? about coolant temp
i just rebuilt my motor and now my coolant temp is constantly at 200 to 208 degrees and my coolant fans are constantly running at idle i replaced my thermostat with a new 170 degree stat and my coolant still stayes at 200 to 208 also my lower radiator hose is always cool to the touch does all this seem normal? thanks in advance
Correct me if I'm wrong, lower temperature thermostats won't drop the temperature of the car, it well simply allow coolant to flow before it hits a certain temperature.
Some aftermarket radiators claim to drop temperatures as much as 30%. I've been debating to switch over from a mishimoto to a 53mm koyo radiator, but I'm hoping by installing my oil cooler I'll be able to keep my car running cooler and changing over won't be necessary.
My car runs really hot and my fans are always kicking on, but it never overheats( knock on wood) I feel that I am in the same boat as you. I'm hoping that I can do something about it before the summer.

200-208 degrees is perfectly fine. Fans at idle is a good thing, just keeping it cool. Of course when you start driving, the airflow will drop it down even more and your fans should kick off. Did you do a rear coolant mod?
If you start getting above 222 degrees I would start wondering why it was getting so hot.
If your heat is ever not warm, then you probably have an air bubble in your coolant system. But you seem to be fine man. Just watch what it gets to on a hot day after getting on it when you are at idle.
It is also a good idea try and drive the car normally a bit after getting on it so that the coolant can cool down a bit. I know you probably don't, but if you get on it real hard and then shut the engine down, your coolant gets even hotter because it's not circulating and it getting heat soaked.
But like I said, you are fine man.

the lower coolant hose carries coolant that is going back to the engine block and has just gone through the radiator after having been cooled off. it is good if it is cooler than the upper hose.
UNLESS.... you have man of the tubes in your radiator plugged for whatever reason and water is not circulating fast enough.
