I don't know if HKS is the cheapest thing over there for pistons and rods, why do you need a new crankshaft? Is yours damaged? Don't get the nismo oil pump, get the revup oil pump you will save alot, and the rev up will take good care of you. Get a Nissan gasket kit, it will have your head gaskets, manifold gaskets, and all the others you will need for the rest of the build, I am personally running a stock head gasket, unless you are running a turbo or supercharger you will be fine. And all of this will be MUCH less than that HKS block, there is very little info about it on that ebay page, would make me scared to buy it

hey classy,
well i wouldn buy it on ebay, the engine itself is assembeld and lays there in his garage/workshop.he just puttet the shortblock on ebay to sell.http://www.customimportarts.com/SHOP...oducts_id=8921 link from his site. to me its just safer i think to take the new shortblock altough car still drove normal and had its normal power when we lettet oil off to see there was little metal in so that kind of worries me that cylinders become damaged:s but it still had good compresion when messured.grtz

I just looked, and those pistons have a 9:1 compression ratio, you would lose power with that engine.

if you going N/A you need a higher compression ratio if you want a boosted application you lower the compression ratio... someone else can explain in detail if needed.

its honestly cheaper just to buy someone used engine... A LOT cheaper. Theres no need for a built NA motor. Unless your trying to make more power than stock in a N/A application.

I spent a crap ton of money building an NA motor, and I only saw about 30hp more, I didn't do it for fun, but because I lost the rings on piston 6 and I couldn't afford and wasn't ready for boost. I agree, find a used motor and save the $$$

no problem anytime! to tell you the truth i would build the motor for low compression and put a supercharger or turbo on that thing. Make it a monster. Right now i have a 03 350z making 425 hp and 411 tq with a momentum kit single gt35r turbo on it.
