Tomei 272º high lift on stock pistons
Hi all!
By a mistake, I bought a set of tomei cams 272º with IN 11.3 and EX 11.00 lift. I know because at least 4 people here in Spain, the tomei cams 272º and IN 10.50 EX 10.50 work without problem with stock pistons, but I'm not sure that my set will do.
Any one knows it its possible to use the high lift tomei 272º cams with the stock pistons? I read a post of "ke0ki2k" that he said that stock pistons can be used with a cam with maximum lift of 11.43 mm but he doesn't says nothing about of at what duration.
My engine is a revup if that is important.
Any info will be wellcome.
Thanks very much!!!!!

Hi thekyledeg, I was just going to send you a private message because I found your post about your build...hehe!!!
Then you are using thouse cams without problem at all? and no problem with advancing CVT control? great news then!!!!!!
If you don't mind, can you make me any recomendation about the "mini build"? my plans are very very close to yours. I'm goint to take your idea about changing rod bolts for APR bolts, what maximum RPM do you have now whit thouse bolts?
Thanks thanks thanks very much!!!!!

I have yet to nail a spec down, but my Z has 272's, but I would think either at 11.0 or under in terms of lift. Stock pistons
Tomei USA have this on their cam specs, if it's of any help
"Upgrading the Valve Springs is required when using Camshafts with Cam Lift greater than 11.0mm (sold separately).
When using Camshafts with Cam lift greater than 11.0mm on the intake side there is a chance that the valves can come into contact with the piston when the eVTC advances the timing. In this case it is highly recommended to recess the pistons to guarantee adequate clearance.
Example: The standard advance amount with the stock head and stock pistons with the eVTC will require approximately 1mm valve recess on the piston."
