Insurance FAQ: Ask the Experts!
Welcome to all new Z owners, wait-listers, potential owners, enthusiasts, and general car nuts!
This forum sees *LOTS* (and I mean LOTS) of questions about vehicle insurance as it pertains to the Z. Many of these questions revolve around coverage of younger drivers, deductibles, geographically specific rates, etc.
After having read more of these than I probably should have, one common truth seems to exist: Nobody on this forum can actually answer any of these questions with any accuracy. Insurance is a very individualized thing. Coverages and rates are based on company, location, age of driver, driver history, previous cars, other cars on a policy, sex of driver, type of car, vehicle options, etc.
The Point?: Before you post questions like, "How much to insure the Z for an 18 year old?" or similar, please realize that responses may or may not even be in the ball-park for your particular scenario, so you shouldn't plan your car budget around insurance information received here.
The BEST thing you can do to get your question answered with any accuracy is to call your insurance company, or several if you are looking for price comparisons.
The 15-20 minutes it takes you to get an individualized quote will save you lots of time reading through responses that either don't answer your question, or just simply don't apply to you.
Again, Welcome to the forum, and enjoy! This is one of the best places on the internet to learn all things 350Z!

This is just me everyone else is different
I just got my z and in fact this is my first post.
Previously to the z I was a supercharged Frontier owner.
Im 25 this year.
one speeding ticket under the belt a bad one too stop sign violation almost a eluding deal but anyway.
One accident of a deer hitting me not too bad.
I was set on either the Z or STI.
I Just learned today that it cost more to insure that truck than my new Z. Unbelivable.
The sti is around 1200/year
The Z is 960/year with a 500/1000 deductable.
The Frontier was 1200+/Year with a 500/1000 deductable.
I was told that i met a 13 bracket instead of a 14 bracket.
it means the Z's believe it or not are cheaper to fix than the frontier.
I live in montana so theft and stuff isn't really a issue here so really it is up to you personally to get your own figures. I thought i might share mine just as a Ball Park figure.
Last but not least my guy told me that color is a URBAN LEGEND. at least around these parts.
