Default New owner of 06 350Z - advice on modifications

Just purchased a 2006 350Z. What a ride!

I am looking for some advice on modifications. What is the best bang for the buck in performance modifications? Are there any performance mods that are relatively inexpensive (< $1k)?

Regarding air flow. Seems like a K&N filter would be a no-brainer. I am hesitant about a new cat-back exhaust because I have heard that some aftermarket systems actually cause a loss in horsepower (and I like the sound it makes now

The two immediate exterior mods I plan on doing after reading the postings, is a clear bra and window tint. My Z is Silver Alloy....will post pictures soon.

Thanks.

First mod I would do is definitely the MREV mod. It is a 5/16" spacer plus the 287 lower plenum.

Increases gas mileage.
My peak HP went up 4 and TQ 11
15-20 HP and TQ increases throughout the power band
You can sell your current plenum like I did for $200. Then your mod really only costs $200+

Can't be this mod for that price.

The best gain for money right now for the 06 Zs is the MREV upgrade (from Motordyne I believe). It is a plenum spacer with modified lower intake manifold. The gains were near 15rwhp and 20torque. I think the price was near $500 and it is an easy DIY (about 2 hours for first timers). Just search MREV to find those threads on this site. If you want to finish up that $1K then get the popcharger (near $100-125). You can get that clear bra and tint with the left over change.
