Hi, Can anyone help me switch out my factory spec radio for...
Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out...I bought the factory spec standard CD/radio with my '06 350Z by mistake and saw someone offering to sell the upgraded 6CD changer for the same model. I have a money back guarantee with this guy if I purchase it and it doesn't work. Is it possible to switch out the factory spec for the upgraded version? What would be required? Thanks,

Unfortunately,
You can't swap them out because the Bose speakers are amped at the speaker and not the deck. Also all the base is supplied through the main unit which is behind the drivers seat in a 10" subwoofer.
The regular system is amped in the deck so they are totally incompatible.
You could do what I did, which was add a JL 300 4ch amp and JL 10"
subwoofer. I put the amp behind the passenger seat in the storage
compartment and the 10" subwoofer behind the drivers seat. The frame
behind the cover is already stamped out for the Bose.
The sound is awesome because the standard system has Pioneer speakers
from the factory. I'm turning many heads these days just from the
base pounding when I go down the road.
As far as the multiple CD option. They sell an IPOD unit that you can
get wired directly into the stereo. All you do is plug in your mini and
you have more songs than you could ever need. What's even better is
you use the buttons on your stereo to change the songs on your IPOD.
It's totaly cool!
