New ZR Owner, just like a lot of people apparently..
So I traded in my "fun" car a 2000 Miata, and my "daily driver" a 2004 Dodge SRT-4 for a brand new Le Mans Sunset 350 Roadster!
It was nice having two cars, if one broke down I could drive the other ... Generally the Miata on nice days, and the SRT the rest of the time. I just got a new job, so I decided to consolidate, as it was annoying paying for insurance on both, and having to put gas in both, especially with prices back up to close to $3 a gallon.
So I drove a couple cars, new GTI, Mazda RX-8, STI, Evo, ... I was out on friday getting dog food for my puppy, and across the street was a Nissan dealership. I actually bought a Laser turbo there many years ago ... I was checking out the Zs, asked to drive a roadster and I thought, Damn, this is cool! Felt like such a badass. The salesman didn't even come with me, had his "assistant" a younger girl go with me. That was nice as she didn't try to "sell" me the car. He offered to take a look at my trade (brought the miata in later) and ... here I am! 350ZRs are hard to come by! I wanted Daytona Blue, but apparently there was nothing but Le Mans within 100 miles ... my salesman called me up and said "What do we have to do to get you into the ones we have on the lot?" and so I ended up getting a grand off sticker ... Still, its worth any amount of money, what a great car!
Ok thats a bit long!
This car is so amazing though, I love it. The power delivery is so much different than the SRT4, which was so much louder (3" exhaust, no mufflers) and the power just explodes. The 350 is much more linear in its power delivery, although just as fast if not faster. Its much better than the RX8 for example, which was smooth until redline, but never really felt powerful. They were practically giving that car away, one i drove stickered at 32k and I could have driven it out the door for 26k...
Ok thats it, i'm tired and the quicker I get to sleep the quicker I can get up and drive!
