The Z has OEM, no brembo. The M has stock brakes too. The z has the oem bridgestone re040's. the M3 has Michelin Pilot sport PS2's. Yeah, the M3's a whole different beast from the non-m cars.

I have heard good things about the EAgle F1 GSD-3's, but they don't like extended lateral acceleration. I have seen them Feather sideways BADLY on track cars. The tread section profile looked kinda Like: _/|_/|_/|_/|_/| but worse. Probably the best tires in the rain on a street car though.

I'll try a lower tire pressure. I noticed that not all of the tread is making contact even with aggressive cornering. (abbrasions are about 3/4 " from the shoulder.

Do not test the car when the tires are new. Tires do no perform at their best until 500 miles.

Hotchki's TVS stage 1 for your wife.
Comes with (better sway bars, front and back, and better springs)

All for roughly 400 bucks and won't break the bank. Plus it is matched with your stock shocks/dampers. No need for Koni's or anything like that.

Should be a world of difference.

The other obvious upgrade is your tires. I think the stock tires on the Z should be illegal. A Z with good tires should hold it's own with an E36.

Prolly should let the mold-release compound wear off the tires!!!

Default I second a second

Just picked up my Z on "Good Friday" - thought I'd let you know - seeing 2 of them in the garage side-by-side is sweet. My 20 yr old daughter has a brand new 06 - she let me drive it 1 day to work - i was hooked - I was driving an 01 SLK230 (kompressor) benz... no comparison.. i feel like ive gone from the prissy/tight benz to the full of fun Z... havent had it a week but im enjoying every minute..the top has not been up once. I highly recommend a 2nd - his and hers... i'm thinking of a 3rd for my husband - to keep him out of mine!
My daughter has 06 silverstone Enthusiast and i have an 06 silver Touring..my brother has an 05 Grand Touring/Black and my husband.. he works for a Honda dealer..hahahahahah...

Default Nismo

You mentioned you saw a car with the Nismo goodies, but took a pass because it was on a base model. Well, now is the time to start adding the Nismo goodies. I added a Nismo sports suspension (it already had the Nismo wheels and sway bars) and it took the Z to a totally new level. There is no comparison to the stock system. It costs some bucks, but you only live once.
