Hello all. I'm new to the forums, and this is also my first Z. I just got it 4 days ago, so it's still bone stock, 07' - MT. I used to own a 99' Camaro SS. I have to say that I much prefer the handling of the Z.
I'm still breaking it in, so I haven't been able to see what it can really do yet. The picture sucks, I just took that on my phone to send to a friend. I'll post a better pic soon.

Thanks all. I'll try to get some better pics by this weekend. During the week all I do is work, drive, and sleep (gotta pay for the Z
). The color is Daytona Blue. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or if the picture was really that bad.
I never seen San Marino Blue in person, only in the book, or it might have been one of my choices. This was my first choice, Magnetic Black was my 2nd. I don't know about everywhere else, but the dealers down here had trouble finding an 07' with all the options I wanted. They said there seemed to be a shortage. Everytime they found one, it ended up being sold already and the inventory logs just hadn't been updated yet. I had to settle for this one, and they're supposed to install other options that they had to order from Nissan, said it takes 10 days to get them. They told me I could get the exact car I wanted if I could wait until the end of March, but I've waited too long, hehe. I'm happy with this one, and it was a bit cheaper than the one I was shooting for
.
Well, gotta run. Cya.

), but I'm guessing it's a low to mid 13 second car. The SS was made for the dragstrip. The Z in my opinion, was made for the road. I used to be "anti-rice", and I enjoyed racing imports. Just like racing Mustangs. My best friend had a 89' 5.0 Mustang, minor mods, and I thoroughly enjoyed tearing him a new one.
But it was just a reason to race, and added a competetive edge. I would never get into a fight over someone's opinion of a car, that's just nonsense.I've always liked the Z line, just never bought one. I test drove a 96' 300ZX, and I was in love with it. But I couldn't afford the $37,000 pricetag at the time (it had 3000 miles on it) and didn't look into it any further. I ended up buying a Z28 instead. Then I got another Camaro, this time the 99' SS, in 00'. About a year ago I was looking again. I was hearing that the 350Z was supposed to be kick ***. Then I heard that the 07' was supposed to be the best yet, and decided to wait for one. I've never driven any other year 350Z, so I can't make that judgement. But I do love it. It handles better than the SS could have ever dreamed. The independent suspension alone...
Anyway, the bottom line is I just have a love for the road. I wanted something that handled more like a true sports car, not just a dragster. Believe me, I did consider the vette. But I wanted new, and I wanted it for under $40k. A good friend of mine just bought a MT 02' vette a couple months ago, with only 13k miles on it for $25k (candy apple red too). Very nice car. After riding in my new Z, and I haven't even broke it in yet, he said he's a little envious. He used to own 2 300ZX, and the vette was his first "non-import" car. So, as you can see this can go both ways.
I'm looking forward to getting stomped by his vette when I get this car broke in, hehe. It's all about fun. Ok, I really gotta go now. late, gotta sleep.

Another guy there has a 04' Z that wants to race me. His is silver with a MT. For all I know he could be a member here.
Once again, thanks all and congrats to you other new owners. Time... wish I had more.
Oh, btw. The car is nearly broke in and I was wondering about something. The book gives the max mph for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, but doesn't give it for 4th+. I believe it says 95 for 3rd, so does that mean that 4th+ will hit the limiter?
