Default 03 Performance = No keyless?

well if i dont get any buyers at a car show im going to this weekend im gonna pull the trigger on a local trade in. but they say they have no key fobs for it. does this seem right? i have the VIN number, can i call the a nissan dealer (the car is at a GM dealer now) and have them tell me what options the car came with and what recalls have been completed? i have already test drove it a few times and it seems that 3rd gear is ok and all the other little stuff that i have read about these cars. anyone have any ideas?

well the car has 45K on it. so im thinkin it should be ok. more worried about whoever traded it in still having the key fobs and coming back for one more drive. i did notice that there is a factory security red LED light on top of the dash. keyless entry has to have a box some where. anyone know where it is?

yes they are available for your car, no need for a vin, they are all the same...

yes you can get a key fob...

easy to program...

get in car, lock doors... insert key, remove key, insert key, remove key (do this till hazard lights flash) then turn key to ON, press lock, unlock door, lock door (press other remote if you have and repeat lock or unlock door) turn key to off posiition, remove key, unlock door... OPEN DOOR, close door then key fob will work...

the remote comes in a box, in a little plastic baggie inside the box...

OEM NISSAN PARTS do not come with instructions of ANY KIND...

OEM NISSAN ACCESSORIES do include instructions on MOST items...

You are buying a relatively expensive car from someone. If they won't supply the key, something else is amiss. Would you buy a car without one of the wheels that come with it or even without the spare?

If it is a good Nissan dealer they will tell you what kind of warranty history the car has had. I have done this with other cars I have been interested in and the local dealer for each kind of car would give me the heads up on its history.

As for the key fobs, I would make the GM dealer buy them and supply them with the car, if they really want to see it.

Then, if you mentioned wanting the key fob to them, I don't understand why they didn't send someone to get one immediately to satisfy a long term customer.

You like the car, you like them. The question is how much they like you. Take these posts to them and see how they react. Good luck.

well i have got them down to 17.9K with extended warrenty and up to 13.5k on my show truck trade in. i feel like this is a pretty good deal and they have offered to get me some fobs last time i talked to them if they could figure out if it came with keyless. that was the point of this post was to see if it did have factory keyless. and since dave said all z's come standard with keyless i just gotta go back and tell them.

z and insane what would your reasons for passing be?
