My 2003 DB Z and moderately long intro
Hey everybody, nice to meet you all. My name's Bryan, hailing from California's San Francisco Bay Area. I've actually been lurking around this forum for a couple of months researching the 350Z, and finally joined after getting one. It's a 2003 Daytona Blue Enthusiast model with the auto-stick slushbox, bought with 23,500 miles on the clock. I daily drive it as my only car in LOTS of traffic and on more hills than anyone can imagine (hence the reason for the auto).
My folks freaked out when I brought it home, saying I should have picked a car that "made sense." Granted, my last car, a 2000 4-banger Honda Accord EX that was totaled in a rear-end collision and allowed me to buy the Z, certainly was practical enough to "make sense." But seriously...I'm 27 years old, single, have no children, and I don't have to buy groceries for twenty on a regular basis. At this point in my life with my current needs, I see no reason why the Z is not practical enough to use as my only car.
Mods planned? Definitely. Although I admit to unloading liters of drool over the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit, I plan to stay N/A. Personally, I'm more than satisfied with the performance that the stock 350Z offers even with the slushbox. I imagine it will be even more awesome with the right parts.
Last thing, I am a meet junkie and enjoy coming out to meet fellow Z owners to chat up and possibly get some mod ideas. I'll be looking to crash a few NorCal 350z meets soon.
Finally, here are some pics of my car after a quick wash at my aunt's house:

Again, nice to meet everyone, and looking forward to chatting with ya. Peace outside

Welcome and congrats. I occasionally get that crap too about the car not being practical. My usual response: "It is very practical if you really like driving and spend a lot of miles on the road."
Welcome Bryan, and congratZ on your Z. Life is for living, now get out there an enjoy!! The Z is pretty practical, you can still go away for a weekend or to a track meet with plenty of gear in the boot.
