Default Just picked up a 2006 Z...couple questions

I've been looking at the Z for over a year now and finally decided to take the dive and buy the car. I currently have a 3000GT, bought the car when I was 17 (I'm 25 now) and it had 118K on it when purchased and drove it 100K miles so I figured it was time for an upgrade. I'm keeping the 3000 cause I love it to death. Car I picked up, 2006, blue, 35K miles, MT, aftermarket exhaust already installed.

So I had the car checked out a mechanic and everything was good minus a small leak in the line for power steering which has now been fixed. My concern is that I have done a lot of reading on the 06 engines eating up oil and Nissan has now acknowledged the problem. My car will have 36K miles very shortly so it will be out of the "standard warranty". My question is, will the drivetrain warranty (60K, 5 years) cover this oil issue?

Also, anyone with a 2006 that hasn't had the issue?

I haven't had enough time with the car yet to monitor oil level but I'll obviously be watching it very closely to ensure it doesn't run low.

if you fall between certain VIN numbers, you are eligible regardless of warranty status. It's a tsb.

Yes, Nissan will cover oil consumption under drivetrain/powertrain warranty.

Welcome to the forum. And hopefully you haven't found one of the oil thirsty ones.
