Default Went for the 370z over the Cayman S

Just picked up a new 370z (Base/Sport/6M/monterey blue) last night after several months pondering the my next car purchase. I had been cross shopping the Cayman S and thought that the 2009 model with DFI and a host of engine refinements over the previous gen car would be it. I have to say though, the 370z really impressed me with its performance, and certainly if cost is going to figured into the equation, the Nissan is a winner in my mind. Sure, the Porsche has a level of engine refinement that is a step above that of the 370z, but I'm thinking the Nissan is damn close to 9/10s of what you get with the CS, at half the cost, and that is even before factoring in what Porsche charges for bi xenons, LSD, 19" rims etc. I'm looking forward to clearing those 1400 break in miles, and then seeing what this car can really do. One down side that I'm sure many have touched upon, the rear view (rightward) is just non-existent. Back out slowly, and keep your fingers crossed!

There has really never been any rearward view out of the Z's. I owned a 1984 300zx before I got my 350 and the rear view is worse but comparible in the 350.

Yeah our rear views suck. That's why I added a rear view camera setup. Its a god send for my 350.

I own a 350Z and buying a 370Z. Yep, the rear view visibility sucks. What back-up camera did you go with and where did you mount the camera len and the video screen?

I have an 04 Z, and I swapped to an 03 cubby hole the slides in, and it fits a 7 in Fahrenheit screen. I hooked up a pioneer rear view camera underneath the trunk release button in the back. I honestly have the rear view wired to turn on with the accessories so I just flip it down at night since its somewhat bright (unless you lower the brightness of course).

I'm sure on the 370, you can use an aftermarket double din screen as a rear view camera, or even a camera with a rear view mirror with a small screen build in.
