Greetings
Hold the congratulations, I don't actually own a 350z yet
The purpose of this post, is to prepare myself for "car shopping", I have been going through a list of cars I want, lurking around forums and a lot test drives etc.
I have ruled out a few cars so far, did the typical WRX/EVO thing, not a fan of AWD after experiencing it, the S2000 is more of the same since I am coming from RX-7's, loud hyper engines with no torque and all top end, trying to get away from that, though I refuse to go FWD, not a lot of RWD options in my price range, trying to stay as far south of 20k as possible, and I don't want to go American or older than 01-02, suggestions welcome
Anyway!, I test drove my first 350z about two hours ago, a base 04, at least I was told it was a base, 6spd stick, 17" wheels and no LSD, never got to a chance to lean on it enough to find that out for sure, I do not plan on buying that particular Z, just wanted to get a feel for them, I like the grunt and over all emotion of the car
My purpose for posting is, what should I look for when i find the Z I want, signs of common problems (minor or serious) as well as what price I should shoot for, depending on trim level, I would like a base with an LSD if thats possible, without going aftermarket, which leads to my next question, I do not plan to modify the car too much, possibly lower it a LITTLE for a different stance, better looking wheels etc., how "mod friendly" are these cars, I assume being so popular there is no shortage of options
This will be my daily driver/cruiser, I know every car has its own little quirks, but I would like to get a feel for how these cars are to "live with", preventative maintenance, what parts are prone to failure or just being faulty, I also recognize that each year could have its own issues as well
Still, I hope everyone gets the gist of my post, what should I avoid when shopping, what should i expect to pay, and what sort of experiences have YOU had "living" with your Z
If all goes well, I will be a new Z owner by next year, just doing my homework
Thank you in advance.

Base models don't have LSD or a few other bits and bobs, but the above forum members posts will answer most of your questions.
Lol, they are very mod friendly, there's plenty of things you can get for a Z, it all depends how deep your pockets are.
