Good news, ring file came.





Bad news, mechanic is now doing a motor r&r so I am on hold until Monday.

Toe arms went in about 2 hours ago.

 

Pistons went together.



Some of the damn wrist pin retaining clips broke during assembly so I have to order them another delay.

Another delay, the block was not set up for the crank so it is back to the machine shop.







AND

2 of the ACL rod bearings were bent, ACL sold me a new set (they don't have them piecemeal) for 1/3 of their list of 99 bucks.

 

Little mod I did today.











37.00 bucks for the OFC copper 105C cable, & gold plated ends + about 2.00 worth of silver solder + an hour of my time.

I think my EVT code was ground related so even if nothing else comes from this if I get rid of that damn P1084 CEL it will totally be worth it.

My block came back from the machine shop.


















It will sit until Monday as the mechanic is going prairie dog killing Friday-Sunday and the oil squirter block off bolts won't be delivered until tomorrow by end of day

Holy *****...sick build. Don't get me wrong, I love my Z as much as the next guy...but you did all of this in a year. Why not put a chunk of a payment down on a GTR? Sure seems like you could afford the monthly payment. I will now go wallow in my jealousy! Definitely like the route you've taken though. Keep the updates coming

Mechanic just called, ranting saying the same thing over & over.

BOTTOM LINE:

He bent an oil control ring assembling a piston into the block (29 bucks to replace) and is "eating" the time he has into it and wants me to go get my parts.

This came today, replaced the 1490 it is a 1695 NULINK. Has google search via ATT & is pretty cool!

 

How are you keeping that stationed in the cubby? did it come with a bracket for it?

 

It is just pushed in. It comes with a bracket that is supposed to attach to a suction cup. To use the USB power cord you have to use the bracket. It is tighter than the old one was. I might rewire with a micro USB to cigarette lighter if I hate it.

 

I just have mine on my windshield but that seems like a pretty cool place too. I'll have to try it on my next trip.

 

I hard wired a radio shack lighter socket behind the dash and have the cable going through the back of the cubby.
