Why did they put this stupid thing between the grill & speaker?
You can't see in the picture but it is covered in dust, can't be acoustically neutral

I found that if you really want good imagining from your stereo, don't stay with the original speaker placement. I ended up surface mounting the 6.5's rears and doors, surface mounting the tweets also. Nissan did'nt bother to center the speakers behind the grille. The door speakers are worse than the rears, at least 50% below center. If you want I can post some pics of the placements.
Rear Image Dynamics now in properly and running through the Alpine F-550.
Ran the speaker wires out of the amp towards the doors, got too hot Hopefully that will be done tomorrow.

Driver door is done. It was easier in some aspects & harder in others. The Image Dynamics tweeter is HUGE!!!
It will more likely than not be Saturday before I can do the passenger side, tomorrow the car is at the shop all day headers, cat deletes & pulleys go on & Friday 7:30 dealer appointment for a new gauge cluster.
