Acura TL > ? < 350z
Hey guys. I am new to this forum and am about to trade my 2004 Acura TL auto for a 2003 350z Touring auto. I hope to learn many things about the Z and more about members on here. I love my TL but I really dont need much room because I am still in my early 20's, I rather have a 2 seater sports car
Well anyway, here are some pics of my soon-to-be-old-car:

The TL has: A-Spec factory body kit, Kyowa 18inch rims, High flow J-Pipe, 2.5 catback, AEM cai, and had coil suspension but had to take it off cuz it was waay too low. (Would scrape everywhere plus i travel a lot
)
Oh yea and the Z is stock.
And we raced couple times just to see how the two would compare and man, the Z is not too fast stock. I pulled at LEAST 3 cars from 55mph rolls. From a dig I only pulled one car. That had me thinking twice of whether or not to trade cars, but the Z WAS stock so I understood. Im sure if the Z had a couple bolt ons like me, it would have been more even. Im sure the Z has waaay more available mods than the TL so I am looking forward to that also.
Aside from all that the other party IS putting down cash with the trade so I believe the mod bug will bite my *** pretty soon. The Z is the Touring trim, Pearl White with the same amount of miles my TL has, 108,xxx. Unfortunately it is an auto just like my TL
I did hear that auto Z's and manual Z's have about the same 1/4 times, give or take a couple tenths of a second on either one. And I DID hear it so it can just be a rumor that has me illinformed.
Anyway, I am glad to be on this forum and I am looking forward to having an awesome journey with the new Z.

Oh yea definitley, but I'm not trying to spend too much money. And yes you are right, that is way to many miles, thats part of the reason why he is putting down cash on his side.
Just curious by if your are gonna mod the Z why not buy a manual? It's much better as far as the overall experience. I had a modded auto car I turboed before and thankfully got manual Z as my next car.

2 booey1979: Im sure the manual will be much more pleasing than the auto. Its just that almost all the manuals I found with good deals were salvage title and personally, I cannot trust salvaged cars, but thats just my opinion.
2 davidv : Thanks. I always thought the Z was faster than the TL... I was thinking I won cuz of my mods and that Z was stock. And I also thought that the Rsx was just a very nice tuned civic, didn't know it was that fast. Im SURE stock Z or stock TL would beat the Rsx.

Some RSX's have VDEC or "Variable Displacement Electronic Control".
Pretty much goes from a 2.0 four to a 4.0 eight cylinder.
Why trade the TL? That's NSX performance in an Accord sedan...a Z would never keep up.

Your TL is super clean, I'd keep it. Don't trade for an 04 350z.
If anything, look for 07-08. You won't regret it.
As the matter of fact, I'm looking for a TL for a DD. much more classy and EXE styled.

2 35oZephyr: Oh wow really?? Does the Rsx come factory tuned with VDEC? I never heard of anything like that. I thought the Z was faster than the TL and I was always a fan of the 2-seater sports cars. I don't know man, stop giving me second thoughts..lol
2 ATL RED G35: Thanks dude. Yea you can find great deals on Craigslist if you are really looking for a TL. And you too, stop giving me second thoughts...lol The guy IS putting down a grand on top of his car even though KBB says we are equal in value.
