So my Mustang is just about sold and I will be needing my new Z immediately!

I have decided on these few things:

Carbon Metallic Silver
6-Speed
Black Interior

I'm wondering what types of signs give away that a Z was beaten on. What should I be looking for here? I know obviously the car should be stock, but what about types of things that someone might be hiding..?

Also, what is the OVERALL best year for these 03-08 Z's? Like, I know with my 99-04 Mustangs, 2004 was the year to have, basically no problems at all.

Lastly, what is up with the weight difference between Z's? I was looking at the specs for Z's on Wikipedia, and it says that

03-05 starts at 3,188lbs for base model
06-08 starts at 3,339lbs for base model?!?!?!?

What's up with the extra weight for the base models from 06-08?!?

 

 

if money is no object, go with the 07/08 year, which has more stock hp and higher redline.
Or if you want to go FI, save your money and go with an 03-05
Then there's the 2006 which is like the earlier models but with nicer headlights/taillights and higher redline
