Default Just picked up an 03 Daytona Blue 350Z!

Hi. My name's Alex. I'm in Nashville, and I work at a dealership where I have access to auctions. I spotted this car at the Knoxville auction and won.
I've driven a dozen or so 350z's and have been wanting one for years!
I FINALLY GOT ONE!!!!

So there was a big storm in Knoxville a couple months back and it f*cked up a LOT of cars. This Z was one of those cars. I have a hatch and tail lights lined up and will be in need of the plastic over-the-window thingys and some dent repair.

I am excited.

Here are the auction pics. I won't have it in my hands for about another week or so.

my guess? hopefully not a dime over $6k otherwise you're gonna
have a hard time working out all of the many kinks with any justifiable
upside... but what do i know

What'd you pay for this beauty?
If it was reasonable,5k...you'll have fun fixin it up.
Was that a hail storm or did a asteroid hit it?
Welcome,I think..

I cannot yet divulge the purchase price. I have posted the news of this buy on a local forum and some one has has shown serious interest in the car. I will sell it for a profit, only to buy a better one!

See above. But if it does not sell, I will def have a progress thread!

You are wise! Very close. But keep in mind that I have some pretty good hook-ups on parts and labor being that I am the manager of a car lot / body shop.

Luckily I had my old car in the garage for that hailstorm! It got my buddy's car to the point where the insurance company almost just totalled it.

This one WAS actually totaled.

That is an idea. But I think a wrap would be around a grand on its own.

Hello fellow Tennessean. Yeah that storm was a monster. Glad you made it out okay.

The car is coming to me a bit sooner than expected. TOMORROW!!!

Got the car in today!
Starts and runs beautifully. Purrs like a kitten. No check engine/abs/airbag/etc lights on. Everything works.
The only bad is the 2-3 syncro like is common in the 03 models. It causes a little grind going into third, but no big deal. I just have to shift slower in that gear for it not to grind.
It could be worse!

Anyone parting one out? I need the moldings that go over the door-glasses. Ya know, those painted plastic arches that span from the fender, over the window, and stop at the hatch.

Got a hatch!

Windshield was all cracked up, so got one of those.

And my tail lights finally came in today too!

Today was a good day. Now I need those over-the-door-glass arch moldings. If anyone has some or knows where some are, LET ME KNOW!!!

btw, for anyone curious, I paid $6400 for the car after all the fees/towing.
