New Z Owner - Sold the Real Z
So I've become a little more practical and a little more responsible, which unfortunately means I've had to sell the 350Z - going to miss it
Traded in the 2005 Enthusiast 350Z for a 2012 Honda CR-Z (basically it's for my wife and her new job)
So many people think that the CR-Z is an equal replacement or an upgrade from the Z, which causes me to laugh - I say "It's not a sports car, I owned a sports car already - now I own a practical Z"
Former Z
New Z
I joined the CR-Z forum and I've quickly stopped checking that site because all of the guys are there are adding turbos, exhausts, and all kinds of upgrades and I think - "seriously, it's a hybrid, why are we still being ricers?" Guess it's a Honda thing and I used to be one of those guys but I will NOT do any upgrades to this car - just enjoy the gas mileage and FWD, I guess
My accessories and upgrades to the Z are currently on sale in the forum too - if anyone is interested

To me the "Real Z" was the 350Z - the new Z is the CR-Z
What a second - are you saying the CR-Z is an upgrade from a 350Z? I don't share that opinion, just because getting the CR-Z makes me feel like such a grown up

Congrats on the new purchase. Not my cup of tea, if i were to go for a Hybrid type car i would have gone with the chevy volt...
The gase mileage isnt all that impressive on the CR-Z as it is more of a "performance" hybrid...
The volt is way nicer looking and much more practical...to each their own i guess...they are still both pretty cool cars as far as gas saving and stuff

Come on - are you guys being serious? You would really put JDM parts, aftermarket parts, or performance upgrades on the CR-Z?
I mean - I was definitely a Honda Ricer back in the day - but I just can't imagine doing anything, especially performance based - on the CR-Z
I'd like a spoiler and I like the look of the JDM and Mugen cars, but this is my wife's work car, so I don't think it's really possible. My only upgrade will probably be tint and a subtle spoiler, but like I've said, I owned a sports car and this isn't a sports car, nor performance car in my opinion.
I disagree on the hybrid comment - I like the look of the CR-Z far more than the other ones out there and if I have to settle for a grown-up, practical car, then this is about the closest I could go to the Z and be practical.
I wasn't really a fan - actually thought it looked like a giant wedge driving down the road, but it's growing on me
Handling is impressive, the options of sport, eco, and normal are nice - big difference with the sport (then again, none of this is in comparison to the 350Z)

Again - like the look but if I wanted a sports car - I would have gone with the 370Z
Looked at a Nissan Juke - but the entire goal was to save gas money - since she's average about 500-700 miles a week and the Juke takes Premium
