Just picked up a 2003 350Z Touring. Traded in my Corvette.

Yes,quite an adjustment.
I'd be interested to learn why you switched from a Corvette to a Z?
Most Corvette guys I know are pretty "dyed in the wool" fanatics about the car.
Also, for the most part(IMO)the Corvette still has not turned the corner to attract
the younger guy. Most on the road I see in this area are driven by older guys reliving
their childhood. With the Z you have a much different story.
The young guys prevail.
A real mint Z you have found my friend!

Thanks.
I go through cars quite often, as I always have the itch for something else. The Corvette is a VERY expensive car to modify. A simple set of catted headers will set you back about $1,800. Wheels (decent) are $4,000 +. I just got tired of paying the "Corvette" tax and I wanted something new.
Me either, lol.

Just saying. I could've bought two corvettes for the price I paid for a 500 whp Z.
Our mods are just as expensive. I have a friend with a C6 with Headers, IM, Cam, LS7 Heads mad 15 more hp than me and runs faster in 1/4 with only 6 grand into his setup.
I can understand liking the Z better, I personally do.

New Corvette platform
Thanks! You are right. I bought the C6 when I was 24, but I have always been a fan of the C4+ Corvettes. I highly doubt the price point will ever meet that of the "younger generation." I sold the C6 for $28,000. Not bad for a 6 year old car... granted it only had 22,600 miles on it. Maybe Chevrolet wants to keep the Corvette as their "premier" car and have no intentions of reaching out to the younger focus group?
Thanks.

muscle car type.On the other hand, the new Z platform appears to be heading back its sportscar roots.Lighter, possible turbo, crisper styling.
Item of note...Nissan is in business to sell cars. The biggest percent of sales increase for the Z is from females! This segment also goes for AT cars.
Paddles shifters coming?

08 Z vs C6
Before I bought my 08 Touring I test drove and "all most" went the C 6 route. My brother had already bought an 05 C 6 and he had been a die hard Z fan.
The only reason I went the Z route was plain and simple "money". The vette was going to be an additional 10k. Funny end to the story is two years after I bought the Z I lost my job. Had I gotten the vette I would have owed an additional 10k. So, for me at least, the Z wound up being the better deal.
I really liked both cars but I still have my 08 and its now all paid for. I find myself looking at vettes now that I have just started a new job but in this economy never knowing when "the man" might let you go, I'm going to keep the 08 and continue to just "look"...

Interested too? I kept the vette and built this, most people can't afford two toys. I love the 350Z as much, 05 Anniversary INGS +1 sides, ChargeSpeed rear, and OEM Nismo wing
vette, it's just mean

this is hilarious.
we ( well not I, but still.. you get the point) all buy LS engines and do swaps becuase the supporting mods are far cheaper..
BTW, it appears no one caught that hes "going to roll stanced" ie, 10 point turns , lots of scrapes, and best for a car that stays in the garage except for weekend rolling.
Looks awesome, but makes your car useless on the street.. ask any of em. As a car guy im sure youre aware tho.. but man, i gotta tell ya..proper wheels for this look will most CERTAINLY cost you 3-4000.
Im not talking purpose built debate here, im talking... cant turn around on an aircraft carrier flight deck.
but, it sounds like youre a guy who throws around cash easier than us maybe, many of us gotta milk these things..
either way, welcome and good luck etc.. youll still find it pricey.
haha.. rad thread of the day for sure. Pays to research, youd not have bought a 2003 mileage aside...w the suspension problems, cheaper plastics and the other fun things they upgraded in 2004-2005.. like the terrible transmission.
