SPO'ed a '13 Z
Just pulled the trigger and ordered a 370Z and is scheduled to arrive in January 2013. I got a White with Persimmon sport touring with the mandatory (for me) 6-speed manual.
First mod I will do is the oil cooler install. I am still deciding which kit to get but I am leaning more towards the GTM 25 row kit but might opt for the 34 row for a little bit more $$. I can't believe that this is an issue with the 370's. I think Nissan should shoulder the cost for installing them on each 370 but after I talked to our service manager, he said that the issue was more on the low oil level and burning oil thing with the earlier models. IDK.
I still regret selling my 2005 35th Anniversary Z but was forced to sell because of buying a home. Now that that is fulfilled, I'd thought that it is time.

Thats great!
Your buy reminds me of when I ordered my 03 Touring in 02.It was scheduled to
arrive in January.Looks like Nissan is on the sameproduction schedule. When the 350
first came out,it was a joke on how little a Nissan dealer knew about the car.I
had to go to5 dealers before someone actually had any facts. Then I delt directly
with the sales manager.I can relate to your anticipation.I've given someserious thought
on buying a new Z.Came extremely close in buying a GTR this past year. The styling
of the car still is a problem to me.With all the rumors on the new Z platform coming out in maybe 014 or surely 015,as a long time Z guy(owned a 240),I'm waiting to see
what happens.Part of me wishes for a refresh of the body and a more HP 6(possibly turbo). The other part of me sees something more radical.Something that will really
change the Z.Move it into another direction .A lighter more radical platform.I'd
love to see a repeat of what Nissan(then Datsun)in the 70's,They brought out a car
to compete with the BMW,Porsche that costs thousands less.My approach would be
a affordable "supercar" contender.Mid engined 4cyl turbo.Maybe coming in at less than
2,500lbs.Stock hp 200+.MPG would be in the ball park to be competitive. As I own
a few other cars, one being a70's Lotus Europa, the Lotus is base example of what a
newly designed Z could be.My Lotus is much lighter. However, the quality of the car
is awful. It was not designed to be sold to the mass market.A mid engined Z would be
a unbelievable track car.As a drag car,it would be lacking. The negative of going with
a platform that I described,is that it can be a dangerous car for a novice driver. My
Lotus corners with the slightest flick of the wheel.Understeer as with the early Porsche's
takes getting used to.
Best of luck on your incoming Z!

Thanks. It's funny how you mentioned your Lotus Europa. The Elise was actually my first choice. Light, nimble and fuel efficient at the same time but the only thing that prevented me from getting one is the maintenance here on Guam and the lack of a qualified shop to help me take care of it. And besides I work for the only Nissan Dealership here. Lol
