Default New 350z owner from good ol' blighty!

Hello all, new owner here from London, England.

I've just become the proud owner of a 2006 350z GT Roadster and I have to say it's one of my better impulse purchases!!

I've got some questions I thought I'd ask my friends across the pond as you guys are always willing to help, unlike those local to me....

* The only issue I have is the roof will not retract. (the reason I was able to haggle a good deal) The windows open, passenger seat tilts forward and I hear rear locks release but nothing after that in opening sequence. The things I've checked and ruled out are:

- Fuses and relays.
- Rebuilt the 5th bow motor (new brushes)
- Replaced the hood activation switch.
- Checked the continuity of the wiring with a multimeter, power is getting to where it needs to.
- Lubricated the roof mechanism

After checking all that I'm stumped, lots of reading seems to point at all the above. However I've just come across a post that mentions a couple more ideas I can try.

1. The tilt switch behind passenger seat - I've just gone to check and it doesn't work. I'm assuming it should move the seat back and forth with a single press. Is this something that can be removed and if so, how?

2. The soft top control unit. - Where is this unit located?

Hopefully I'm getting close to figuring this out as apart from the roof issue I'm really really enjoying the car.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome
what does it do when you push the button?
do you hear anything, passenger seat moves forward?
Mine works now,but didnt when i bought it in May 2017
took it to Nissan dealer, what a waste of 450 dollars, they wanted to replace whole top for 9k.
Then it just started to work, works most of the time now,but doesnt close flush with the trunk, small gap.
got a guy who is going to look at it August 3rd
i think it might be a bar that is slightly bent but not sure.
Good luck, find someone that specializes in convertibles, not the dealer

Try pushing down just above the rear window, while some one is in the car pushing the button.what yours is doing is exactly what mine was doing
might be 5th bow is bent
