With proper care (by the book), no reason a Z can’t go 200k and more. I’d be a little leery of a car with 187k unless all maintenance records are there indicating proper service intervals, timing chain, F-R fluids, etc.
What Mic said …
I’d rather buy a 200k z33 that was adult driven (and driven consistently), not abused, well maintained, garage kept than a 10k chassis that has been dumped on.
what transmission does it have - manual or auto?
Factor in that the engine will likely need replaced in the next 20k to 50k miles and go into negotionations with the seller with that in mind…with that being said, a low mileage donor engine will be $1500 to $2500 and if you cannot drop it in the car yourself factor in $1000 for labor/fluids/wear parts/replacable parts/etc.
do you have a link or a post of this car?

Late to the question, but still here. Gentlemen, my opinion is that some of the most reliable vehicles are Japanese. A 350Z with 200k is a lot for a newer model, but an 04 seems just right. You can't make up for any abuse that it might have gone through. You can repair it and enjoy it for 100k more. An 04 can be negotiated well on the price and purchased cheap. Not everyone knows about the oil problems with the newer models. My DE engine is still running great on my 03 after all of these years. When you invest in making something work, you respect and enjoy it more.
