I ditched the spare to put amps and a CarPC there. I carry a can of fix a flat, a cell phone, and roadside assisstance through my insurance. Have't had a problem in 3 years, nor in the 8 years I had my 300ZXTT, which I did the same thing to.

The manual said specifically to only use a flat bed because of the body kit

Thats what I would use if I had to get towed.

We all know that standard tows are crap.. And your saying FB's are too...

Dude.. So how is anyone supposed to tow their car then? Tires are one thing, but what about breakdowns etc?

Dont think any service uses auto transports for roadside assistance...

Screw in the tow hook... grab a long rope... attach to tow hook and other end to truck hitch.

But I was curious to see what you guys think.

If you have AAA is it worth pulling out that spare and tools to save the approx 40 lbs?

Anyone here done it?

What are your thoughts on this?

Will AAA tow you free of charge if you don't have the spare tire for them to put on... (would that void their service or something?) I would guess not but I figured I would mention it just incase
Ditch the spare. I run NISMO LMGT4's 8.5/19F, 9.5/19R on my '04 G 6MT Coupe, the spare is just useless. I cannot see driving the car with that 18" lump on any corner.

Besides, Infiniti includes 24 hour roadside service and free loaner for any overnight and most daytime repairs, so I can just call them

What a Joke! I just took that puny tire out. I can't imagine if I got a flat I would want to drive on that thing anyways. Damn thing was quite heavy. It was about the equivalant of a sand bag I just took out of my trunk.

Yay for tail slides!

Yeah, I have to weigh mine, 40 lbs sounds a little light for an 18" spare. It feels more like 50+ lbs to me.
