I don't think the D3 is available anymore. I went to Circuit City this past weekend to inquire about it, and it's classified as "discontinued".

Here's 2 models that may be replacing it: http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/21/p...0bt-gps-units/

Has anyone bastardized their Nismo with door speaker pods yet?

When i first got my Nismo i was like....hmmm.....the OEM ssytem isn't that bad.

I must of been a on crack that day, cause this has to be THE worst stock stereo i have ever heard.....ever. Im gonna be putting my old D3 in the Z soon, and want speakers too, but im really not cool with the pods and all the hole drilling that comes along with it. Kinda leaning towards spacers, do they work well ?

Hey Tarzan, if you haven't got a new stereo yet, I can show you my setup.

I have a Kenwood DNX-7100 with nav, bluetooth, rear camera, ipod and sirius. I love the 71000, it's hella fast and is very high quality.

I had San Diego Car Stereo install it, because I'm super rich like that and don't want F anything up.

Just got it done because I'm driving to Vegas on Thursday!

Looks like Im not as much of a baller as you guys. Im going cheap with a Kenwood DPX502. I just needed something that was double din, has integrated satellite radio, has an ipod input, and I can hook up my amp and sub to it. Im just waiting for my local shop to get it in so they can install it.

Tell me you didn't really just call yourself an audiophile after talking about installing SONY speakers?

I agree that the stock system needs works, but if you are going to upgrade your stock speakers, why not do it right?

I am leaning this way.

Sony CDX-GT820IP What do you think? Any front speaker recommendations?

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...T820IP&tp=5684

I want the speakers to fit the OEM front door area.

Im not going to worry about speakers just yet. I really just need to get my XM hooked back up. Local radio is driving me insane! I am hooking my sub back up which is a JL Audio 10w3.

I am installing the Sony XS-GT1625A speakers for the front next weekend to help out with the sound problems. I will say that changing the HU to the D3 made a huge difference. Also, consider cutting power to the useless rear speakers and change the power distribution to the front channel.

I got the AVIC 3 with the rear view camera by BOLO. It is incredible and the fit is perfect.

Sorry I haven't checked here for a while.

I love it. !0000x better than my DDX6019.

The navigation is all on the hard drive, and there's no need for navi dvd's. If there's an update, it is done through the usb input via usb storage device.

The ipod controls are incredible. Very fast, can search through everything, etc. Can play videos off the ipod and everything as well.

Startup screen and background images are all customizable as well.

Yes, installed it myself.
