So today my friend and I decided to go look at some cars, while he get his oil changed. I remembered seeing a silver nismo at a nissan dealer in st louis and wanted to stop by and take a look at it. I got up to the window pressed my faced against it and the aluminum plaque was etched 0004 It was kind of surreal at least for me seeing this is the 4th one made. Well basically we stood there in the freezing rain admiring it. Then the salesman came out. Real nice guy, but didnt know too much about cars or the nismo and was new but he opened it up for me to see the inside. I must say i love the tach! Everything is nice and compact which i like, It was small and cozy. Blind spot was horrible though but easy to get use to. I then got out and was ready to leave (cause we were just window shopping) and then the salesman asked "what will it take for you to buy this car." I replied, "a good trade in value for my car (07 6mt, prem pack) and a good price for the nismo." He then said it can be arranged and ask for contact info,gave me his card, and etc. He also wanted me to meet the owner of the dealer and shake his hand which is nice.

All in all I love this car. And am thinking about it more now since the salesman said he will be willing to work with me ah crap. I still owe 25,000 on my car and have some dents and damages from vandalism. Am 20 yrs old and going to school full time and I also work full time. Any opinions? (I obviously know the correct and easy choice is to keep my G, but man the nismo 350 is eating at me)

 

your going to lose so much $ if you trade the G for the nismo, theres no way they would give you 25K for the G. How much they asking for the nismo? how many miles?

 

Well i don't know I said I will play around with these thoughts and will call if i have decided. but my G has 15,xxx miles

 

Sell the G, buy a beater, and buy a nice car once you graduate. Thats my opinion. Big car payment while in school is evil; trading in the G for the Nismo and being upside down even before graduation is even worse.

the Nismo is amazing... but the u'll looose out waaaay to much on G for a trade in... get some figures... weight out your financial position, and take it from there...

 

Do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding. The Nismo is a great car, but being in debt while in college sucks big time. Been there, done that.

 

ah I was thinking of selling my G once it's fixed up, and just buy like a nice used 03-04 350z or an s2000 for like 16-17 grand. That will take off at least 8 grand of payment for my G.

I got the money to fix it up, actually i have it now already but am still deciding if I should do this. I was thinking of customizing my LP G paint with metallic flakes and pearls since it's been in a few accidents and the old body shop i went to did not do a good job on the paint (the surface have orange peels but it looks deeper, only can be seen at an angle.) I'm adding new extra exterior parts like skirts, the oem wing, and etc so I have more incentive on painting the car.

my friend went to buy a car yesterday (ended up with the 08 g sedan) and talked to the salesman that I spoke to about the nismo. Apparently he's willing to let it go for 30,000 holy cow!

 

I don't believe it.

 

to bad I would have traded my tt z for a clean G. I need some back seats. if any one has a clean black G i will trade.
