Whats up with all the used Nismos for sale?
Just for ***** and giggles I went to Yahoo and searched used 350z's > 2007 around Mass. I found 2 pages of results and of about 20 cars about 5 or 6 were used Nismos!
I thought that was bizzare, why the heck are so many people trading them in so early (5K -10K miles). Do they blow up like a pinto? Does the wing detatch after 12,000 miles!!!
Has anyone else noticed this in their area. Unless the dealers are driving them around, why would so many people buy a car for 35K + new and drive it for a year max. Taking about an $8,000 loss... Only logical explanation... money to buy GT-R.
I thought the Nismo's was pretty rare untill so many of them pop up on the search. I guess it comes out to about 50 per state but still 5-6 in a search out of 20 regular Z's seems high. Plus I have seen another 6 or so around my area. I thought they were all in Carolina/Texas/California. I thought I was the only person dumb enough to buy a completly impractical 2 door , RWD car in the middle of friggen New England! Bah!
/End rant

Yeah i noticed that too, only thing i can say is that i guess it wasnt the right vehicle for them. I myself have not driven or riden in one but from what ive read it does give a stiffer ride so maybe for some it wasnt what they wanted. Also you got the GTR out now which nissan has stoped production of for the moment i heard, and the 370 out now earlier than expected so who knows what the reasons are. All i know is that you can get into one fairly cheap now.
^ sell kids get GT-R
lol or in the mid west (i think) there is a clinic where you can drop off your child, no questions asked... Meant for young mothers ect.... except people have been comming in with their 15 year old daughters LOL

Im actually on the fence about selling my Z now that we have a baby. The way we have daycare and work set up now were doing fine but if things were to change, and well they usually do we could have problems. lol
I wouldn't sell my nismo, unless I decided to trade for a GTR. But with the current house situation, I would rather buy my first house first before I spend more money on a car. After the house, then maybe the gtr
Untill then NISMO all the way

If you dont research the car you are going to buy, and then hate it, you deserve the 8k depreciation.

I was a little nervous after watching the edmund review that the ride would be rediuclous, but I'm fine with it. It makes driving in a luxury car that much more luxurious too now. I find when someones about to hit a huge pothole I cringe, lift my legs off the floor, go into the fetal position, and brace myself
But then its just a tiny ... bump...
When I went into the dealer and asked them about the Nismo, they said a lot 40 -50 year old guys came in looking at a maxima or something for their wife, and saw this sex box for $35,000 and bought it just from seeing it and taking a 5 minute test drive.
My guess is a lot of these people traded them in. I remember seeing one on ebay about a guy who traded it for a corvette because supposidly according to the dealer the ride was too stiff for hit brittle butt.
I guess the good news is if their on the lot, there off the road

I was toying with sell my nismo the past month or so too. But not for the "I bought it for the wrong reasons" kinda of way. I dont mind the stiff ride, the 2 seater configuration or anything. I came from a STi which I had for 4 years, so hard means nothing to me.
I did the whole RWD thing all year long up before in a mustang i had years ago. That doesnt bother me too much neither. Its really a few times i went to buy something at best buy or home depot and i was like......crap, i need something with a trunk. Also i cringed at the though of driving it in the winter and getting the exterior/front nose all messed up with snow, sand, salt..etc.
The clutch drives me insane, but im fixing that in the spring with a new clutch and flywheel.
If i ever lost my mind and sold the Nismo, I thought about getting a A4 or IS250 AWD or even a BMW 3-series X. But like alot of you said the market for nismo's right now is crap. And i would of taken a huge loss on the sale. IMO, if anyone were to sell their Nismo's, the time would be in like 2 or 3 years from now. When they will get to be a little more exclusive, no longer dealer available and hopefully the value will hold up.

Just to chime in here I was just checking for deals on Ebay and I found #0004 at a Lambo dealership in St. Louis going for less than 30K. I hate being in foreign countries when I find stuff like this. I would make the drive from Louisiana just to go and get that car. It has 651 miles on it. Sweet.
I got mine used a few months ago from MC, he sold it to make room for his GTR. I was happy I knew the guy selling it (I am wary about getting used cars), and I didn't pay MSRP or over...
