Also, you don't need to have the clear coat buffed each time you sanded it between coats. Buffing it brings back gloss, which you dont want if your going to spray more clear on it. All they needed to do was sand it to remove orange peel, then clean it, remask and spray the car again.

That looks nice as well but I like the darker red better obviously, I have honestly never seen this car before though.

You are apparently an auto body guy? Which completely makes you my hero! Anyway all those steps were done because I wanted them done they told pretty much everything you so eligantly explained for absolutely no reason what so ever but I wanted it done and I am the paying customer! P.S. It is not a definitely going to crack, there are all types of things that can happen to your paint/car even if it isn't a daily driver so to make a sorry attempt at trying to make me feel like I got ripped is just absolutely unneeded but thanks for your intelligent post!!!
Not to burst your bubble or anything but the 7 coats of clear is a very bad choice if u ever decide to drive the car. That's WAY to thick and will eventually crack from normal driving conditions (even if you had them add a flex additive to it, which i bet they didn't). Besides, 7 coats of clear is no more shiny than 1 coat of clear. However you do need at least 2 coats of clear to acheive the proper amount of UV protection. Since you are going to have it sanded and buffed and poilished I would have gone with 3 inital coats of clear, then had it sanded, buffed, and polished at the end, leaving you with 2.2-2.5 coats of clear remaining. Doing this would have saved you a couple thousand easy!!

id agree... i know much about body work, and i dont see why it would crack. people get shopping carts pushed into their cars, doors opened into body panels, and even fender benders--- all these cause dents in the car, but the paint (solely) is hardly ever affected. so i dont see how making a left turn to go into the drive-thru would cause his 1/4 panel to crack

Gibbs is correct.
Subscribed for finished product.
Looks good so far, I like the colors. Who's to say a race inspired car can't have a show quality paint job? There's isn't a rule book for this ****.
