Default Some more Nismo upgrades

This coming month I plan to install:

- Quaife LSD
- 4.08 Final drive gears
- Nismo Diff Cover
- Injen CAI's
- Samco Red or Orange HR hose kit ( ordering this week)

Here's sum pics

After this I think its safe to say I have a full Bolt-on modded Nismo Z. I should be satisfied for sometime with the upgrades I have made

Very Nice lakeside,

ha,looks like you finally caved into buying the Injens.....

im about to buy them also but cant pull the trigger.....

what made you pull the trigger since at first you were more interested in just throwing some filters for the Stock Boxes

If you're planning on actually driving your nismo on a racetrack, those 4.08 gears are going to suck.

How do you figure? Whats your experience with gears on a road coarse or track?

With the Diff and Gears the car should pull harder out of the corners. Keeping the car in the power band and making serious use of my Mods! Sure I will loose some MPH in 5th and 6th gear but not like I am racing Nascar doing 200+ mph lol

Will lower 1/4 mile times! Not that I drag my car but I may try it once or twice next year to post up some times.

If it makes you feel any better OP, a local here made 10whp with the injens on a stock motor.

Whats my experience? other than having 4.08 gears in my previous Z. The reason its not good having these gears for a racetrack other than the 1/4 mile is having to shift a hell of alot more, it's a PITA, but It's your car, do with it what you will.

I did order up the Injen intakes in black.

IntenseSales didn't have Red or Orange HR Samco hoses in stock so went with Blue. I should have pics of everything installed on the 28th. Vids to follow that

....and we all know there is only 1 "racetrack" in the US

This is such a broad based statement it really makes no sense - perhaps with your track, and your previous setup (suspension, skill level, tires, etc), they were not ideal. But there are no absolutes when it comes to "tracks".

depends... the Z with the HR engine has for a fact only 3 usable gears on a track with stock gearing... with the 4.08 he'll have at least 4, with a better chance of being in the powerband in every corner.

1st gear is useless... both stock and "shorter"...
6th gear is a fuel economy gear and 5th come into play at 140+ mph as stock...

I guess it's a function of many things

I have a Cusco LSD and currently a 3.9 final drive, with more hp than most, and a significantly increased rev limiter - I don't find first gear to be a waste at all (my car is full weight too). The car just hooks from a launch

I think 1st gear on a track will be a waste. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are your useable gears. I hope to do some track days at the Glen next year

I may even take it to the strip a couple times just to give others an idea what a build like mine will run in the 1/4

I'm running out of performance mods See what comes out in the near future.

For those with full engine builds and TT setups what is the max whp and wtq the stock driveshaft and axles can take?! I haven't searched yet but I haven't seen anyone upgrading their drivelines.

there are no driveshafts that I have ever seen for these cars, for good reason

I'd like to get an ARC combination tank but damn expesnsive Amazing how rediculous pricing is on their products.

Combination tank $700+
Radiator pressure valve $400+
Cooling Panel $250-300+
I won't even mention their oil cooler price. lol

Crazy! R&D, Materials and Labor + markup don't even justify those prices. IMHO

than it means it's time to drive the damn car
than you'll use the $$$ to fix whatever it fails.

btw. about the gear is exactly what I mean.
in the straight line you probably don't gain anything because it pulls harder but you lose time shifting but around a road course could be a different story.
