So my skirts are getting a little loose and my one is starting to protrude a little at the top. Anyone else having this issue. I think when I get some time I'm gonna remove them and re attach them with some 3M or something to make them a little more snug. Any other suggestions?
If they are getting loose...openings at the top,it would be best to take e'm off(a pain)and re-install.Did you originally put them on?Alot of guys that install skirts/lips etc. use the standard 3-M tape that you can buy at Home Depot etc.Its best to use tape especially made for panel installation. If applied per instructions, there should be no problems.3-M acrylic plus attachment tape is best.Auto body paint supply stores have it.
Also, its good to use 3-M adhesion promoter on surfaces before you attach the tape.
A heat gun or hairdryer is good to use to heat the surfaces(that have been cleaned well with alcohol)before installtion.Removing the skirts is a job.Especially cleaning the old gunk off the surfaces. This will take the most time...

nah, as long as its the 3m grey tape, its fine. Adhesion promoter is key. and make sure yo intall it with very clean hands, clean car, and inside where its warm. dont do it outside in the parking lot.. i was just in MO, its frikin cold there already .
When youre absolutley sure its ready to roll, peel the tape back and hit it all with a heat gun.. dont melt it, but still, get it hot.. helps the part thats already stuck to the one side adhere, and sets up the side your about to stick on adhere too.
I give the whole area a gentle go over w a heat gun when im done too.
Ive never done that skirt, but the carbon license plate frames are a total *****.. if you dont tape it super well, they dont sit flush and look like *** after its been outside in the heat a few times.

There is a 3-M all purpose cleaner that is available for removal of the old
tape residue.Comes in pint cans.As mentioned before and by others, heat the tape&surfaces to promote a good adhesion.I use 91% rubbing alcohol to clean surfaces after you get all the residue off.

This stuff(3-m) is great. Its good for hi temp applications...300 degrees.
But,you gotta heat it first.Heat again when applied and use a roller. Its on for good.

Ha Ha! Well, I currently live on a gravel road (and have for the last year) so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. My front clear markers are also loose! Thank god I'm moving to a real street/neighborhood this weekend. I appreciate all the help guys. It might be a few weeks before I do this but I'll keep everyone posted. Anyone recommend a website to buy the 3G stuff from? Remember, I'm currently in bum-***-Missouri!
