Default Just added Nismo #0779 to the family!

My dad picked this beauty this weekend! Mag Black 08 Nismo #0779

so after months of car shopping and long discussions trying to help him pick something fun to drive, He kept telling me all he wanted was a black 350z (same exact car as me) Seeing how I wasn't going to let my dad do that, we continued to shop around, then we got our eye on this lil number.

a week later, sent a buddy over to look at it (still has every sticker) and a dozen calls back and forth with the new st. louis nissan dealership (west county,) we hopped in the car, drove across missouri and picked it up.

Never realized how different a HR is for a DE. The HR feels like a totally different car. Although I must say that oem clutch in the nismo sucks butt, Im too used to the aftermarket one on my car. Driving them back to back makes my DE engine sound like garbage tho. It has me feeling like my z has been neglected.

Oh well, I'm thrilled for the day he sells that baby to me. He gets to pay for the deprecation and i get to ensure I get a quality nismo in the future.
DONT WORRY I WON"T PUT A BACKSEAT IN THIS ONE

didn't get to many pics before the sun went down on me.

ya we got back from our body shop guy, talked about the front bumper. it had a plate bracket on the front so theirs 2 holes and a slight square where the bracket touched.

My question for all is how far can one alter a nismo, and not be frowned upon. Me, my dad, and painter all really want to pull and shave the front emblem. My dad said he has to paint the door handles. The goal is to keep this almost completely original, but there's a lot of little things that he wants to change. Swap the front amber reflectors out, remove rear wiper, shift **** ect.

guess its up to me cause I'm gunna be the next one to own it.

Alter it all you want. The bodykit can be improved upon.
You've got great bones no matter what. nice rides.

Did you ever fab up a piece of plastic to fill that gap in the
backseat?

Congrats!

Several have filled and shaved the front emblem. Painted door handles or side markers. Or have even filled and shaved the front side markers. I never run a front plate. I had the door handles and side markers painted to match the car. It looks great!!!

ya I've had that piece in there for couple months now, just forget to put a picture in my build thread, local homies have seen it.

good then I'm definitely going to give him permission to pull that emblem, I think it looks so much better without. Plus it really needs to be painted to be perfect.

and he was super disappointed when he saw it had cloth, I neglected to mention that. so they may end up in a plastic bags, and in storage

Very clean, but why not fill the reflectors while you're at it? 2 birds with 1 stone!

^^^^ Nope not a ton of bondo... An experienced tech & shop will have a plastic welder. They remove the markers & fill with plastic. Then smooth it out with a little bondo.

I was looking to have this done but never got around to it.
