It's basically a track edition with an HKS Nismo muffler & body kit. It's a real head turner! But if your looking for performance, it needs upgrades!..
Well i wish I had the funds or waited a lil longer then I wouldn't have to go after market for a body kit and stuff in the end I would have saved money needs more power
In a nutshell,as Nismo's progressed,they got better.
You could install S-TUNE stuff on your Z and get that Nismo feel.
Thats what I have done.
If your objective is handling, you can buy the S-TUNE suspension kit
(there are other kits on the market)and sway bars and greatly improve
the way your Z handles.
The 370z Nismo is great!
Nope they don't understeer! They are great in the twisties. I upgraded my sways this summer. +80 up front and +130% or so in the rear. Mine now oversteers. lol I'll stick to the first hole.
The gear ratios could be alot better, my biggest gripe. It's costly to re-gear the tranny. Much cheaper to swap final drives.
The 370 Nismo is a step behind the 350 Nismo in both handling & braking! The 370 Nismo's only increase is HP!!! Don't steer him wrong.. Do your research! Hell the 370 Nismo crashed and nearly burned during testing by Road & Track.
From a cost point of view (buying it new), the Nismo is a good deal, factoring in the welds, body kit, suspension upgrade, wheels, etc. It was noted as the Best Handling Z from Nissan, before the 370's came out. Maybe still is?

Joking on the burn part!

^^^This. People are quick to give out bogus advice, especially non-NISMO owners.
After owning a base Z....I would say the nismo woulda been worth it. Nismo would even be better than the other trims, just the rear end alone and brembos would do it for me.
It has its downfalls, but the suspension is better than any coilover systems you can buy for under $2k. The stiffer chassis is a great added bonus and the aero package is great on it. If i was in the market for an HR Z and intended to track it, Nismo hands down.
I was looking for a Z for about 2 months. At first it was non-hr then was convinced to get an HR. Kept looking around and all I could find were HR's with low miles around $19,000+ so I found a Nismo for $22,000 and bought it, and I have not regretted it even a little but. If I bought a non-nismo: I would be buying coilovers, rims, exhaust, lip kit and maybe different seats that totals well over $3,000. Not to mention how many people pull up next to me at lights and tell me my car is "beautiful" or "wicked awesome".
