Nismo #0236 still has factory spring spacers.. 8 years later.
I've heard the stories of guys discovering their Z still had the factory spring spacers in after months of ownership. While washing out the wheel barrels I noticed the spacers were still on the springs. I can't say that I would've known they were there if I hadn't checked, because they car still handled well (not sure if I'm the best judge, haha). Did the rear come with them as well? I couldn't get a good look at the rear springs.
Is it safe to claim the My350z record for the longest installed factory spring spacers on a Z?
On a serious note, should I be worried about any damage to the springs? I have an appointment at Nissan on Monday, and will have them check it out.

Nismo0385 bought sept of 2014 with 36k on the clock still had the spacers in. The car handled like it was on rails with them in. Unfortunately i found them while swapping springs so i never got to feel the suspension in its intended form.

The key reasons springs fail is due to constant and repeated over compression or over extension making them prematurely fatigue. How could they be damaged? They never did their jobs to begin with.
The shocks, too, should have had a nice vacation. Time to break everything in. If you take the car to Nissan, I hope they work for free, since they should have done this job pre-delivery.

That's exactly why it hadn't even occurred to me that I should check for them, the car handled so well.

My initial thought was that because the springs had been extended for so long, I might experience issues with them settling, and settling even, or that I might experience abnormal spring oscillations. Although, you do have a valid point regarding the springs having to be over compressed/extended to for there to be any damage.

. I drove the car 10hours after I bought it (I turned down the shipping), and had no issues.

Nice discovery. When I purchased roughly 5 years ago..my Nismo with 2k miles on her, I found the same spacers. What made me look? Well when I bought my '81 280zx 10 years ago with 50k on the clock I noticed the ride being a little rough and a faint noise up front.. I checked it out and found she still had her spacers in the springs!! I thought that was pretty darn cool. Back then they were made out of rubber it they were in remarkable shape!
Why on earth don't the Nissan dealers take these out upon delivery is beyond me, but it is what it is I guess.
Makes me wonder after reading and watching reviews of the 350 Nismo saying the ride is rough, harsh and would be difficult to "everyday" the car if the review car had the spacers still installed. While the Nismo is stiff for me it is by no means harsh and this car can be used everyday
