Default Dyno tuning w/ nitrous

I bought SAFC and planned on getting the car tuned within a couple of weeks. Truthfully, i've seen plenty of dyno's and have noticed that the whole process to me is kinda hard of on the car, and with nitrous im a little worried about blowing something. I have the step colder plugs installed and am only doing a 75 shot, but tuning can take a while and might include spraying multiple times. Is this a good idea to tune like this, or should i just junk the SAFC idea???Thanks!

I think it's the only way to tune. How else are you going to know what's going on. Have all the different jets ready when you hit the dyno.

A friend of mine who really knew what he was doing installed his own SAFC and tuned it himself with a wideband gague while driving. Now, i definitely dont have the knowldege or a wideband for that matter, but if i bought it and had someone who knew what he was doing, wouldent that work too??

Sure, but your not tuning for HP/TQ. I really don't think a few runs on a dyno is going to hurt your car. I will probably take a full bottle though. As long as your AF is right, n2o isn't that bad (imho).

The best thing to do, honestly, is to call the manufacture and ask them what are their recomended jets. I know most, if not all, manufactures have a tech line set up specificcally for questions like these.

Just be honest with them and ask them truthfully that you want a "professional" opinion. They'll give you different jet sizes and even part numbers in case you need to order from your local shop.

Bottom line, most kits come with recomendations for particular cars.... tell you what jetting to set it at. Even if you take it to a dyno with the jets the manufacture recomends, you'll notice that it's a safe "rich" level.
