Default nitrous / warranty

I just bought an 06z. Well I absolutly love it. My wife and I must be going through a midlife crisis. Anyway I am thinking a nitrous kit. Does anyone know if this voids the warranty? Is there somthing else i should do befor nitrous?

any performance part will void the warranty if the shop can prove the modification was the cause of it. Nitrous especially. If you plan on putting nitrous on your car and you tear something up, take the kit off completely before taking your car in for warranty work. I promise you, if you bring in a Z with a blown head gasket or melted piston, they will point to the bottle before you can say NOS. If you've never used nitrous, do your research. There are many rules to follow when using it. If you follow these rules, your car will live a long happy life on the laughing gas.

well... if you use nitrous. make sure not to mount the bottle through the body of the car in any way. first thing they would look for is four bolt holes in the back. also when you use nitrous, sometimes your spark plugs will turn a nice pink/orange color. some dealerships will know the signs of nitrous and if you blow your motor, well i think they have every right not to warranty your car.

do lots of reading and understand nitrous fully before you go spraying it into your engine. when done properly, it will last forever.

Ok well thanks for the advice. I think to be safe I will skip nitrous for now and work on other things. Its a 6 speed manual and I havnt driven a stick in 15 years so it is probly me not the car.

I know this is not the place for it but. My new 06 has a dvd player in the back with nav. disk in it. I was told I could play movies through it but it does not work. It says nav disc error. Please replace disk. Am i doing somthing wrong or was my 19yr old saleman incorrect?

I think the salesman just wanted to make a sale...but I may be wrong. I think its illegal in most states to watch movies while driving so the system is probably not capable of reading any other type of disc.

I know in most, if not all factory navigation systems it wont let you adjust or type addresses or modify searches while driving...you have to stop the car so you wont be distracted while driving. Going with this logic, I doubt they'd equip a car with the capability of allowing the driver to be distracted by a movie.

Although...Im sure you can modify the system to accept other discs and if not you may be able to add in another dvd player.

Good luck

I know mine (03) has an adapter you can have wired in that will allow for the watching of movies. I have no idea if this has/is changed in newer models. The adapter runs a couple hundred bucks and can be found at most custom stereo shops.
