Default nos or sc or turbo for a daily driver?

Okay, so I've been looking to get some type of FI upgrade on my car (eventually)... I originally was going to go with a Vortech SC, then I asked around and it appeared I'd end up spending 7-9k for the kit, install, and supporting mods..

so then i went to look into some nitrous kits, which would appear to run me 2500 w/ gauges, utec and install... someone told me that n2o is really only good on straight-ways, not really good in the long run and on curves... is there truth to that?

my goals:
an upgrade that won't affect the life of the engine significantly (i kno itll strain it over time regardless, just want it minimized)

have a significant hp/tq boost for a daily driver, but not meant to battle on any TTs or SCs

it will not be on the track all that often, so i dont really want a 10-12sec car

so with those goals in mind, would n2o be worth it? i know ill need to refill the tank now and then which costs $$, but ill have 2 tanks ill be swapping out when one runs out, also i wont be running it everyday, more like when a ricer goes next to me thinking im all stock from the outside and wanna fire it up

n2o is basically the easy way out and yes its hard on your engine and yes it is only good on straight aways or spooling biggg turbos

None of the above are hard on your engine if done correctly and used with a good tune.

For your purposes I'd say either get a 75-100hp kit (same as I'm looking at) to have some fun once in a while. OR, maybe take a look at an APS single turbo kit if you want something a little more permanent and available.

Thing about nitrous is "it's like carrying a bomb that MIGHT detonate when you crush in to something" is it worth the risk? I dont think so.

don't get me wrong. I like the idea of the nitrous that you get instant HP specially when there's douche bag beside you and turn it off for daily driving

Carrying a Bomb? The way I have my bottle mounting in my Z, I would have to be rear ended by a M1A1 Tank to actually get it to explode....

Or Just leave the heater on and the bottle closed... Anyway that's what Safety valves and Blow Down tubes are for.

nitrous is a nonflamable gas, the only way a bottle would blow is if the pressure got to high or a hole put in it

I don't worry abit about a bottle blowing up

heh, i get completely different reactions here vs g35driver... they all want me to jus go with SC/T/TT for all-time power.. i think i will go n2o instead and have more money into other upgrades like exhaust etc

well if you go sc or tt, i think what seems to be average around here is about 10k for kit/supporting mods

i would say tt, but seems like you dont really need it but then again, once you feel the extra power from the nitrous, you may change your mind

if i change my mind, then ill worry about selling my n2o kit and saving more for a tt or sc, but for now i wanna just play with small change for a nice upgrade

before i started doing tt build i was running a 100 shot on a stock engine and stock computer. the only other thing i did was put a step colder plugs in and messed around with the fuel jet, which i think we ended up with a 26 on the fuel side. after playing with it on the dyno it made 310whp and 355torque. nitrous is great for a daily driver because when its turned off its a stock car and with it on it a animal.

Only for people that don't know how to work on cars.
