Default Problems!

just got my nitrous kit installed (n.o.s kit) and the car is running like sh*t. i have'nt even sprayed it yet cause of what its doing. when i accelerate the car its not as responsive, and it starts to sputter as it reaches redline which then leads to the check engine light to flash ! the only thing i could think of is that it may have a minor leak in one of the intakes ..??

??? any thoughts???

its probably something stupid that an inexperienced shop would do. we see this all the time.

dont spray the nitrous until you have someone else check it out.

It sounds like an air intake or vacuum leak to me.
I would check the air intake tube to make sure it was re-installed properly after they put the nitrous nozzel in it. Also make sure the nozzel has a good seal around it.
Also check vacuum lines around the air intake tube.
There is one that plugs into the air intake.

If it is sucking air into the air intake tube after the MAF sensor, it will run just as you described because the MAF isn't registering the additional air that is flowing into the intake.

Just like garym said, if air is getting into the motor w/out being read by the maf, it will run like crap. Sounds like you/the shop drilled the hole to big...fix that and report back

Any air getting in past the MAF will cause problems, even a small hole or leakage around the nozzle.
As GolfinZ said, seal it and get back to us.
You can put some electrical tape over the hole and see if that makes it run better.
Then make that shop replace or fix the air intake tube they messed up.

That doesn't make sense because in your first post you said you haven't even sprayed the nitrous yet.
If you had never sprayed before it started running like crap, how would that be the problem?
Are you using a DRY kit?

Hey, at least your man enough to admit it was your fault.
I'm glad it was a simple problem like that and you only wasted some juice, and not your motor.
Have fun bro! Nitrous is a kick in the A$$ when set up properly.
