Default 07 HR nitrous installed!!

I just installed a dynotune wet nitrous kit in my 07 gt roadster!!

Dan, the owner, sent me the 100, 125, and 150 jets instead of the smaller ones.

I tested it with the 100 crank shot (little scared at first) and she ran like a champ. I put in the 125 crank shot for now. Only sprayed for about 2 seconds with this one because I havent tuned it or changed the plugs

Ive been all over this forum and others looking for the correct part number and where to buy 1 heat range colder plugs for this car. Most of everyone on this forum claims that the ngk lfr6a and ngk lfr6aix (iridium) are the correct part numbers. But i did a little more digging and this is incorrect.

The correct part number for the 07 hr stock plug is fxe22hr-11 and i heat range colder is fxe24hr-11 right?

Where the hell can i get the 24s????

Any suggestions for anything?

Are you planning on taking the car to a dyno? What other mods do you have done?

The dynotune kit has the microswitch behind the peddle at wot, but I have to activate my switch for it to engage.

The car is completely stock! I put in a Jensen 7" Navi that fits perfect in the cubby and thats it!

Oh and Ive been doing even more research and it seems that no one sells the 1 heat range colder plugs for the HR motor!!

They sell up to two heat ranges colder for the 06 motor which is the same heat range as our 07s so it does nothing for me.

Ask for Sam. And they have both 1 and 2 step colder plugs for the HR. J2K, a member here, recently got the two step colder plugs

I would not spray anymore on the 100 shot untill u get the car tuned for the Nitrous. I went from a 75 to a 100 shot with the same dynotune kit and the car went way more lean. Randy and Jared from Uprev really had to add fuel to the point where they thought I would have to go up 1 size fuel jet on the kit. But luckily they added enough. You dont want to play around with running to lean, ive only been into nitrous for about 1 month now but ive really came to respect its power and what it can do to your engine if not setup properly. Such a cheap mod that gives you so much power can be very dangerous....espicially running lean.

The difference from the 75 and 100 shot was night and day though. Its complete madness!!!! The car is really really really fast on the shot.

Thanks for the number!

Twitch579 I never even asked for the 75 shot because I didnt think it would pull as hard as I wanted it to. Dan from Dynotune sent me the 100 125 and 150 jets and I started with the 100 and now Im up the 125. I definitely dont feel safe spraying on her as she is right now thats for sure, not without the plugs at least.

The plugs that are stock are FXE22HR-11 and I need FXE24HR-11 which would technically be the equivalent of the NGK-LFR8AIX-11 which NGK doesnt make I dont think. The 06 Z has a NGK heat range of 5 stock and 6 would be one step colder for the 06 Z. Our 07s run a heat range of 7 stock so 8 would be one step colder.

I dont think anyone out there has these plugs

And remember dynotune goes by crank shots as well...

Originally I thought they went by whp like NX but they dont.

Ive had nitrous on two other vehicles and always went risky with good luck so far. I think I might toss her back to the 100 though just to be safe

Here are 3 out of 5 pics I have so far. My phone is dying so the other two didnt get sent.

Its a stealth install where almost all the lines are covered with that stock black hose line. The foggers are underneath the intake tubes and can not be seen at all at first glance.

Why dont you go 2 steps colder?
It's definately safer then 1 step colder..
I'm also going to run dynotune's 125 shot jets.

Here's the link to the 2 step colder plugs for our motor's: http://gtmotorsports.com/product.php...cat=267&page=3

I'm just waiting on the Kit to get here (Wednesday) and I have no idea when GTM is going to be sending me the plugs (Havent received a tracking number yet), Sam from GTM said it'd be here before friday; which im hoping for since I was going to get the kit & plugs installed friday along with a tune.

NGK's LFR6A IS the correct part number for 1 step colder plugs, but only for DEs. HRs use different plugs, so it wouldn't work. Just clearing that up. And NGK's LFR6AIX is wrong, because they're Iridium plugs (copper is better for nitrous).

As I've already mentioned in another thread, just because the DE 350Zs have a heat range that is 1 step hotter stock than the HR's stock plugs, it doesn't mean the HR's don't need to replace the plugs. All cars use the appropriate plugs for that car and that car only.

BTW, the 75 shot may not sound like it's much, but remember that nitrous is all torque increase. It puts a lot of stress in a very, very short amount of time (no "building" boost at all). Don't underestimate nitrous. Things can go bad real quick (for example, spraying 125 shot, regardless of crank or wheel measurement, on stock timing with stock plugs is stupid).

Lastly, let's see some before and after numbers from the track.

Here are two more pics. Cant see much b/c this is the top of the intake tubes which shows no sign of nitrous!!

Also: Just got off the phone with Dan at Dynotune again and he reassured me that I shouldnt get all worked up getting a custom tune and retarding the timing and all that jazz.

I do want to get 1 heat range colder plugs b/c 2 is a bit overkill IMO. Unless you are running high boost or a hell of a big shot 1 heat range is plenty. GTM's website only sells 2 heat ranges colder for the HR so I think that is leading a lot of HR owners to go that direction. IMO its a bit too much but what do I know

Im going to contact GTM directly today and along with Denso and NGK and see if they plan on selling 1 heat range colder plugs for the HRs, which would be the equivalent of heat range 8 for NGK and heat range 24 for Denso.

1 step colder for the HR = 3 steps colder for the DE

LOL-2 step colder is overkill for N20 at the levels you guys spray at. Also remember N20 is COLD, most FI guys including myself run 1 step colder plugs and our cc's are much hotter than yours will ever be spraying with the boost we see. Two step colder plugs can lead to decreased performance NA, rougher idle and some throttle response lost. Stick to one step colder...

3three: It is to my understanding, and please correct me if Im wrong, that the Z's computer will automatically retard the timing to some degree if it senses any knocking or pinging. Not sure if it would be too late b/c the shot comes on hard and immediately like you said but that is what I have gathered from some shop owners and Dan at Dynotune.
