You should be able to fit them on 15x8's. The taller sidewall and soft sidewalls allow for a narrower rim........I say that because 15x8's in our bolt pattern and proper backspacing/offset are pretty easy to find.

I have a set of 15x8 weld prostars w/ 275/50 MT Drag Radials on the way......I will snap some pics on wednesday to help visualize if you want.

I mounted my ET Streets on cheap steelies which cost me less than $96 shipped for a pair brand new. They weigh a lot more than the Weld Draglites and Hoosier D05 slicks combo that I had a while back. However, they seem to do the job well as evidenced by my 1.702 short time.

Here's a pic of the Hoosier slicks mounted on Weld Draglites (big pic, hence the link):

The attached are pics of my ET Streets mounted on said steelies. I think the offset is like +6 or something.

Damn, that makes the Z look like serious buisness right there

I like it. Can't believe you are running that hard without a tune, why haven't you done something about it in over 2 years?

Thanks.

I haven't gotten a tune because I felt that I didn't need a tune N/A with 4 or so bolt-ons that I had. After getting nitrous, I haven't had enough money to throw on the car. I'm happy with a 100 shot for now.

you can always run a gear lockout on the nitrous and not use it until second gear. That would eliminate some of the traction problems in first gear but you might still break loose even in 2nd.

^ That's one way, but that also slows your time down. How often do you pull below 1.8 on your short time N/A?

If you don't really care about your ET, then you can do what was mentioned above, use a progressive controller, or have a 2 stage set up.

Thats part of my original debate I was having with myself, before I was enlightened regarding the fact that'd I'd be in the top of 5th crossing the finish line.

Basically, the debate is "Well, I could run a gear, with the 100 shot and slicks, but if it can't hook, and I lock out first, will the gear more than make up for not spraying in first gear?"

I wish there was an easy way to test/determine that.

i'm a bike racer and never took my car to the track until it was FI. On the bike N/A i do 1.6 and sometimes better, but normally about 1.6

If you're going to install nitrous, getting gears aren't very practical. Your first gear will be absolutely useless so you'd have to spray from first. And I'll tell you now that nitrous + 1st gear will get you out of the hole faster than shorter gears, given that you don't spin the tires off the line.

Well yeah, it will get you out of the hole faster, but what I'm saying is that perhaps the gear could make up for it, over the rest of the run.

Either way, I think I'm going to pass on it for now. Nitrous would certainly be completely useless on street tires at any point.
