Default Relay location

Something i have been putting a lot of (probably too much) thought into.... Do you think its better to put the relay in the cabin or in the engine bay?

My previous install on another car i had it in the engine bay.
My logic is this:
In the engine bay there is less wire between the batt-relay-solenoids, less wire = less resistance but it exposes to the elements of the engine bay giving it a greater risk of failure from heat, cold, potential moisture.

In the cabin the relay would be much more shielded from the elements but the battery and solenoid wire would be much longer causing resistance but probably not enough to degrade performance. In my application im using 14gauge wire.

Interested to know if anyone has an opinion on my thoughts 😉

I've had my relays for the solenoids in the battery compartment for over 7 years and they are still fine. I have them wrapped in electrical tape also.

I put my relay in the cabin. Behind the kick panel on the passenger side is a little hole. I stuck mine in there with all the wiring.
