It's nice they're taking care of their screw up that way-- I've seen vendors request the product, then send back the right parts with a reimbursement sent to the credit card. I always found that kind of unprofessional.

and that right there is why one doesnt act a fool with someone else's car. Eyes from all over the region watching.

No sir, bike biking... pedaling.

I'll worry about a sport bike once I pay off my car's loan.

my brother and I both have road bikes. Benotto for him and I have a Klein. we normally ride them during the off season for football but with the shop, we've been tremendously busy. I rode my bike one semester to go to UNO. It was great till the rains came around.

I'm looking to buy one in the near future-- in your estimation, what's an acceptable price for a not-too-expensive bike? I've seen anywhere from $300 to $3000.

I'd like to keep it on the low end of the spectrum, obviously, but I don't want to buy a total piece of crap.

example of ones I've considered

If I were to buy a bike like that, would I feel I cheated myself in three months?

that's a good bike for the price. from experience this is what its like... 100% aluminum bikes are great but dont take them out on long rides. they will kill you cause you feel everything from the road so get some good padded gloaved, handle bar tape, seats and pants. Steel is excellent cause it doesnt transfer much of the road vibration but the frame does flex when you're on it unlike aluminum. Titanium is prolly the best of both worlds. light and strong yet expensive. i'm not going to go into the metal mixes cause it seems that you are more interested in relaxing rides out there and not some world class touring champion, if i'm not mistaken.

try going to GNO cyclery, bicycle Michaels, or the other shop that is on jeff highway next to the lowes near the jeff/orleans parish line. they have plenty of bikes there that you can try out.

I would get the best bike you can afford! if you have 700 to spend on one shop that price bikes are hard as hell to pick out as they each have their own little do dads. alot of the shops here will let you ride them before plunking down any cash which is nice as you dont spend alot of money on something that isnt even comfortable to you. IMO set a budget, then look for one thats comfortable, then narrow it down to best parts, etc.
