No kidding. My uncle races his e46 M3 and he's told me some horror stories about his personal car and his friend's cars. I've also been reading on the bimmer forums and some of that chit is a bit too expensive. After market parts are a joke as well.
I think the problem is I test drove a 2.5i Z4 roadster the other day and now I'm kind of a bimmer fad.
Yeah my uncle had a 5 series that he sold because it was costing him too much to keep it. He put more into the thing than it was even worth.
The Z4 I drove was nice. I mean yeah it was a 5spd 2.5L but it was still good on speed. Quality was there but I don't like the gas pedal (which is what most Euro cars use) nor was I feeling the shifter.
The 3.0 Z4's are pretty quick as well. I was messing with one a long time ago at night on interstate. Just don't want a convertible honestly. All-in-all they are nice cars but are mainly more for the older crowd who just wants quality with a little go.
