thats just how they sound. there is no rubber dampning on the top and bottom of the spring. so all the noise transfers into the chassis. mine have always made noise. kinda sounds like the top of the coilover is hitting the chassis of the car cause the nuts arent tight. thats the sound i get. i went to check them a few weeks after i got em installed and everything is very tight, just summed it up to the nature of the beast.

As long as I know its normal it wont bother me too much.
Is there a nut on the top of the coilover that needs to be tightened?
eh well dont go spinning the gold ****, thats the dampening. the nut on the bottom tho im not sure. lance or bradley would be able to answer that one. but yea from what i gather the noise is just a thing with these coils. if u look at the stock stuff it has alot of padding to make them quiet.
I dont think we touched that bolt....we did on the back two because we had to take the to struts apart. Only because I heard Chi was having knocking noises from his rears and I contacted Stance before I even bought the coilovers from Chi and told them the symptoms and they sent me two new pillowball bearings no questions asked lol.........

You should not have to tighten that nut. It's a Jet nut, and is self locking. It should already be tight, if it wasn't you would be able to lift the pillow ball mount.
Also the pillow ball mounts should be able to move around, up/down, spin around. That is their purpose.

Must just be normal "gen 1" noise
I need help deciding what diff to get.....I think I am torn between the nismo 1.5 way and the Quaife.....I want mainly autocross but Id like to get into drifting and be good at it naturally. SO I need a diff that will allow for drifting yet still be very competitive in autox. Id prefer the Quaife cause I know it will be awesome for autox but I am afraid it will hinder me when it comes to drifting....Ive been trying to look around a lot about quaife or any helical for that matter and drifiting and not to many have experience with it. Didn't find to much info on people drifitng with a Quaife, just a bunch of people who DONT own a Quaife saying it wont work.....

Scary chit considering the noise was getting louder and louder as it loosened more

Actually, I had trouble with the nut loosening itself the first time I installed them. I had to tighten it up myself because it had way too much play. Had about a .5" gap and I didn't even touch it prior to that
