Actually adjusting the clutch master cylinder rod is the proper way to adjust your clutch engagement point. You should be able to tailor your engagement point to your liking by adjusting the rod. The "mod" seems to just shorten the clutch pedal stroke which could backfire and cause your clutch to not fully engage or dissengage.

my $0.02 on that

+1 on that^^^^ If you're just looking to shorten your clutch pedal's stroke, then the "mod" would be ok. But like Lance said, be careful of how far you move the pedal. You could end up ruining you clutch. Our cars have a lot of extra play at the end of the stroke though. When my clutch pedal got stuck, it was pushed in about 3-4 inches from it's normal position. It was still ok. I could still push my pedal to the floor and fully disengage the clutch. But no way would I adjust my pedal down that far.

The person that did a writeup test to see if the clutch had fully disengaged or not. Forgot what he did.

I lowered my clutch pedal in my both my MR2's and it helped not having to push down as far, especially at the track, but I had a friend in his MR2 go way to low and burnt his clutch up! So yeah like Lance said, be careful depending on what you want to do.

I don't want to hear any excuses for not being at the track on the 6th. I can see it now...."sorry I couldn't race. I really had to trade in my Z."
