how do I resize pictures on a Mac

ya thats pretty much it. I have no clue and they are way to big to post

There's a bazillion different ways, but here's an easy one.
Open the image in Preview. Go to "Tools">"Resize image".
Change the settings to what you want.

I don't have the option of resizing in preview
