You kids have some weird trends.
just for the record, i had spacers on with no hubcentric rings for quite a while and never had this happen. even autox and drift with them.

I've had the same setup for about 7 months, spacers and no rings. Just make sure those spacers are tight guys.

looks like everything will be ok Jared. . .did you get the estimate yet from insurance even though you're just paying the deductible. . .how much damage was done to the other car from the wheel. . .

finally done with the gears install. . .took the pinion gear over to CNC Machine today to get the bearing pressed off the old pinion so i could get the washer from it and had them press the new bearing on the new pinion all for $20. . .not bad. . .right now i'm just waiting for the cover seal to dry so i can put some oil in then i will bolt it back underneath. . .i had a perfect tooth contact so i'm pretty confident it will all work out well. . .really don't want to have to take it back apart again. . .

lookin smooth Jonny. . .

Ok, here are my thoughts on the 4.08s. . .WOAH!. . .If you are at a roll in first gear and you punch it, you smoke em. . .slap it into second as if you are racing, you smoke em all through second. . .and this is with the base model open diff. . .haven't gotten to third yet because i'm afraid i will have too much fun on the street and not slow down for lil old ladies crossing the road plus it wants to catch so bad it feels like it wants to hop a little bit. . .but the gears won't let it get complete traction unless you let off. . .like i said before, i had gotten a perfect tooth contact but i still have a little whine on deceleration. . .i need to run it some more to see if it goes away. . .i doubt it though. . .Jonny, i don't think i would do yours till i see how long the job i did on mine lasts. . .it feels good, rpms look good accept for the whine and that could be because of too much tooth contact . . .time will tell. . .but i love them so far, if i could only get traction on the street. . .now i'm ready for IF0. . .

because i didn't have the money for it. . .don't think i'll be getting one anytime soon. . .traction would be non existant in first and second gear if i were to try and run it on the street with a lsd. . .i'm looking forward to the track now, i need that traction off the line. . .it wouldn't take that long to put one in though when i do decide to get one. . .

so i limp into grid, and try to reverse park, while doing so, 4 out of 5 studs snapped, i dont think the sharp angle turns while reversing combined with the welded diff helped.... it would of sucked if it happend while i was on the course drifting...
since then, i bought a torque wrench to check the torque specs after eveytime i use the an electronic impact gun

I don't see how you can't get traction on an NA Z. I can see the open diff and gears creating some issues, but if you had an lsd I don't think traction would be non existant. The LSd would help out a lot. I would have done that before gears.
