Anyone ever have trouble with warranty and Nissan headquarters? Here's the problem:
I have a 2007 Roadster. The bar that goes across the middle of the underside of the top has a small plate on each side with two screws in each plate; one is just about directly over the drivers head, and the other would be above a passenger's head. They are small, and the screw heads are each about the size of a pea. When the top closes, these screws rub on the inside of the top, and have slowly worn a hole into the top, on both sides.
I take my car to the dealership, and they say it looks like that is the problem, but you need to call headquarters to get it approved because the cost is over our limit to approve it ourselves. I call HQ, tell them the deal, then they call me back and tell me "The cause is from outside factors. We cannot replace the top." If it is happening on both sides, in the identical place, seems like its the screws.
Any suggestions? I am pretty mad right now.

sounds like you've got a fight on your hands. . .or maybe you just need to take it to another dealership. . .different dealerships handle things differently. . .i've heard a nissan dealership in LaPlace handles things more to the liking of the customers than some other dealers. . ie. the tranny chatter in some Z's. . .you could have the dealer talk to headquarters directly since they are the ones saying that it is the screws fault and not "outside factors". . .or take pictures of inside and outside where the screws are and send them a detailed letter or email explaining what's happening and keep checking up on your letter/email to see if anyone has reviewed it yet. . .whatever happens good luck. . .
i saw you yesterday when you pulled along side of me at the clearview and vets intersection when the traffic lights went out. . .i was in the turn lane to head for the Huey P. . .that was a cluster ****. . .

when i had my roadster i went to leblanc nissan. they could fix it and brought it to tops unlimited in baton rouge and had it adjusted. no problems. no questions. even got a loaner car for the 3 days it took.
pissed.... got out my car today and noticed a bulge in the hatch right about the thing that springs up the hatch door.
it poped a ding in the hatch because the spring compressed to much.
unreal.. ****

not many people jumped on the list for the BR meet huh...
i'll still roll out there and bring that coil over wrench back to you Greg.
I finally finished painting the inside of my house today. It hadn't been done since it was built 6 years ago and I can't believe how much of a difference that fresh paint made. So I spent my entire 30 day vacation either working on my car or my house. I'm heading back to Korea Tuesday morning.

Hey I'm selling that seibon hood once I leave. It's made for 03-06 models. I already have aerocatch hood pins installed if anyone is interested. I'm thinking $400 picked up. I'm not sure what hood to replace it with yet but I know now that I have to STRESS to the people I have an 08... there are some pretty bad rub marks where it's been riding on my engine cover but it's all hidden when the hood is closed.
