i've been doing some reading about these bikes.. they call them streetfighters.. ranging anywhere from old school (like my earlier post) to new school street bikes minus the fairings and custom work.. most of these guys get these bikes wrecked and part them together.. cheap too..
that one I posted was a 1975 Honda.. if it were closer i would consider it.. but i figure i have plenty of time to research and think on it..
cool stuff... i could see myself getting into this... cheap hobby.
customfighters has some crazy bikes. I've been lurking there for a year or so. I'm working on a fighter of my own right now. I have a 99 vtr1000f. Picking up my dirt bars tomorrow. I have the square tubing to make my new subframe sitting in the shop. Picking up a new gixxer headlight for it from a friend and I'm going to fab a sheet metal shroud around it. I've done a lot of maintenance to it already. It's running but now it's time for some custom work.
^word? I had no idea you were into this... MAYBE if your *** posted more often or said hello I might have known!! =p
=)
Sorry. I've been so busy lately. You bishes can call me too. Did you come down for mardi gras?
I always loved the fighter and cafe racer bikes. I just didn't want to do it with my cbr because I just couldn't bring myself to pull the plastics off a perfectly new bike. I picked up the vtr real cheap from a friend that wasn't doing **** with it and it needed some good lovin. I'd love to have one of the old cafe racers like you posted.
