And judging from the aeriel shot on the site, it looks like it will be off of some body of water, looks to be a lake. Is there a lake in Avondale?

What's wrong with Avondale? Where would you guys rather have it, in the East? That would be worse IMO. There is lake cataouatche in Avondale. Where do you see the aerial shot?

there is a body of water back that way and they were supposed to be building a levee because everytime a major flood happens that lake spills into Avondale, from what i understand they haven't even finished it yet. . .it's just not a good area in general because of crime. . .i believe that's why the dirt bike track didn't last that long back there, dunno, maybe someone else knows more on that subject than i do. . .i'm in avondale every sunday so it would make for a good place for it just because it's right there but other than that i don't see it lasting long. . .i hope i am wrong though. . .i think new orleans and surrounding areas really need this. . .plus i have been waiting forever for this to happen. . .and i still think they need another dirtbike track rather than riding all the way to Holeshot Raceway in Prairieville. . .

 

maybe they will host boat races on the track during hurricane season!

Yes, that is correct.

 

I believe they finished that levee. The dirt track you speak of I think caught fire and was never rebuilt. They are building a new business park in Avondale and they also have the TPC golf course.
